The Secret, Jane Roberts, Laws of Attraction, new-age thinking, forgiveness
Everyone is talking about the new book "The Secret"-this secret is another book based on the laws of attraction-reminiscent of the Jane Robert books; "Nature of Personal Realities" and "The Way Towards Health"-Why does this subject continue to intrigue us? Perhaps we do realize it is a great truth and want to harness this power in our lives. Seemingly simple-we are attracted to attraction-but it is far from simple. While, we can talk about changing our thoughts till we turn blue, and we can tell ourselves over and over what we want to feel or are supposed to feel-The truth is, until we get honest about our true feelings and what is really going on inside-we will never be able to apply the laws of attraction faithfully and all of our efforts to attract the things we want will be in vain. For instance-I can be filled with rage and anger-for years-built up, and I can do the "right" thing and turn the other cheek or advertise to the world that I have moralistically forgiven others-The fact, is no matter how hard I try to move forward and attract positive things in my life to me-the only thing I will be attracting is more anger and more deception into my life. Clearly, ideologies like "The Secret" or various self-help techniques-be it mantra's, meditating, visualization, yoga- are empty and useless until we truly experience our own personal reality and view these ideologies within the concepts of Wilhelm Reich's work on human armor and the need for physically expressing rage and anger before it consumes us. There is a bigger secret, which precedes-"The Secret"...

I have tried everything to escape my feelings-letting myself feel things like anger, and hatred seems all at once easy and impossible..but being honest makes sense. Where can I get these Reich books at? Thanks for this thought provoking blog.

taken from page 218, The Way Toward's Health: "It will help you considerably if Ruburt (Jane Roberts) discussses his mistrust of the body with you-thus expressing those feelings within the framework of your relationship. The feelings should not be treated with disapproval, for it is, of course, because Ruburt DISPROVES of such feelings that he often keeps them hidden." this is extrememly important before people even attempt to look within. They need to analyze their own perception of anger and fear and see how it still has manifested in their lives. Humans need to be truthful on how they view their own anger. This will be the begining of understanding their emotions. I did not watch the "the Secret" but i feel Seth's work was a cornerstone in all modern age self-help stuff. In the last book, The Way Towards Health, Seth PROMOTED Jane's feelings of mistrust, FEAR, and even events that have put such an emotional pull on her life TO BE EXPRESSED!!! and Jane did this right up to her last breath. Seth in no way promotes hidding these feeligns under the rug. I feel readers just tend to skip over it and move straight into the emotions that makes us feel good. I know, i missed it for years!! That is why i still read it. Jane really went through a life change before dieing. She released feelings of her mother, (thinking she may have murdered her), memories of molestation (from catholic priests), her fear of having children, fear of her own power, and much more! We need to evaluate our thoughts in an honest light and how we feel about these darker emotions.
