Coconut Oil and Candida-Ayurvedic perspective
If you are having a problem with yeast and you are vata pitta, I would suggest you locate where your yeast is presenting itself. If it is in the skin then you have a pitta type-this could be ring worm, athetes foot- or if it is presenting first in the colon-then you would have Vata...
You would have to look at your body symptoms in the present- are you cold and constipated now-do you have alot of flatulence- popping and cracking joints? These are all signs of excessed air/vata.
Treating for air first, warming herbs and lots of sunflower oil, almond oil, sesame oil, or ghee..
I would like to ask how you come to the conclusion of what you dosha is? Is vikriti, or pakriti?
I generally see people drawing conclusions about their doshas without getting a genuine ayurvedic pulse diagnosis-
For instance-to come to conclusions about the dosha you need: pulse diagnosis (before 9 am for constitutional), you need a body observation analysis (eyes, lips, hair, tongue, body type, etc), you need a symptom inventory-for the present condition and one for throughout your life, and a sort of psycho analysis (is the person paranoid, short tempered, or passive)-It is only through looking at all of this information, carefully, and reviewing the present and past symptoms, piecing it together can one arrive at a dosha diagnosis.
You can wait to do the coconut oil if you have your heart set on it after you have balanced the air-
Coconut oil right now only if you are having skin/liver/digestive acid problems.
If you are a fire/air, pitta/vata- I suggest, keeping it in check to keep your yeast from proliferating. Adding cinnamon, fennal, or cardamom to the oil may be prudent.
I do ayurvedic analysis- (without pulse through the internet) but I have had a lot of success with my thorough questionaire method-if you are interested you can contact my web address
