I have alot of clients that are or were for years, "their own pharmacist" I personally think it is an expensive way to go...
Sort of like a shot in the dark,
Like Aloe Vera for instance- is Kumar in Hindi-and is very cooling- so it would only help people with a pitta constitution or a pitta imbalance, same thing with coconut oil- I had to study Linda Page in school- I think she over generalizes too much and doesn't take into account different types of constitutional factors..
I think Gabriel Cousen's work is more dynamic-but, I warn you, overwhelming..and shamefully vegan (to the point after you read his work-you don't want to eat anything-ever again!) his book Conscious Eating is filled with information on different types and it is a good lay persons guide.
When I do tea detoxes with people I give them a list of herbs and how to prepare them according to herb and constitution-
I don't make up my own tea combos- I don't believe in combining herbs in teas- unless you prepare them according to root and leaf-if you don't then you end up destroying a good many of the tannins and rendering most of it completely useless...
The only time I use combinations is when I use the ayurvedic herbs-which I sell on my site-those are basically churna tablets made according to dosha/constitution. ..
Natural healing is like a never ending maze at times and is difficult to find your way through-You have lay people spreading lots of information back and forth-and some of it is not true, then you have the herb company hype, and then you have some Naturopaths that are very close-minded...It can make for a lot of disinformation.
So, I recommend my own book which takes a step back from the current trend of natural healing... It is wholesale on my site right now and they priced it for 16.99, and I am selling it
for 12.99 until the publisher picks it up...
