How you do you come to the conclusion of what your dosha is? Is vikriti, or pakriti?
I generally see people drawing conclusions about their doshas without getting a genuine ayurvedic pulse diagnosis-and without using the necessary guidelines.
For instance-to come to conclusions about the dosha you need: pulse diagnosis (before 9 am for constitutional), you need a body observation analysis (eyes, lips, hair, tongue, body type, etc), you need a symptom inventory-for the present condition and one for throughout your life, and a sort of psycho analysis (is the person paranoid, short tempered, or passive)-It is only through looking at all of this information, carefully, and reviewing the present and past symptoms, piecing it together can one arrive at a dosha diagnosis.
I find most people will say, oh I am fire, because they been having a bout of acid indigestion, or skin problems-but this is not always the case.
Sometimes, what happens is that you have all three doshas excessed and it is a sort of snow ball effect, by the time the illness has made it through kapha, and vata- and gets to the pitta stage and is presenting on the skin-great care needs to be taken to balance all three. You will generally find adult pittas are not constitutionally pitta- but their body is suffering from an accumulation of ama in all three doshas.
I do ayurvedic analysis- (without pulse through the internet) but I have had a lot of success with my thorough questionaire method-if you are interested you can sign up through my site..
