Are the Chakra Colors Your Method for Color Therapy? You Are in for a Surprise!
The therapeutic treatment of color is highly individualized. For myself and my clients I apply a technique that is divided between jyotish/dosha/and the Dinshah spectra-chrome model. The truth is that color was not assigned to the chakra system until the 1960's in the United States-So I tend to be highly suspicious of the over simplified chakra color model. For instance, the color blue- on the throat- that would depress the thyroid gland and orange would activate it (of course, you need to treat the pituitary/pineal gland and the whole system-as part of this). In essence, I find most people cling too fondly with the chakra system and it has somewhat debilitated color therapy as a whole.
I was recently asked the simple question of "What color should be used to center oneself?" For centering-in terms of calming the body and mind-pink would have the greatest effect- I know they use the color bubblegum pink in insane aslyums to calm people down. I think the time is approximately 5 minutes or so. If you are interested in the dynamics of color's effect on healing and the human body-Please,attend one of my workshops or buy my book "Beyond Natural Cures".
