Trying to Heal a Rash? Better Try Harder....
This is in regards to skin rashes and skin problems like psoriasis and eczema.
There are two things about rashes that need to be taken into account..
The first is that rashes are the hardest to heal,
As a naturopath doctor, I work with people sometimes a year or longer to get rid of skin disorders- I have a very hard time finding people who would invest that type of time commitment in healing their rash.
But, to understand how the skin works-and I will use an ayurvedic back drop- Skin problems are a fire/or pitta disorder-scaly ones are more vata-but still the modality is to get a scaly dry rash "to weep" and release- I usually do this with color therapy and herbs.
Then, once you get to that point you can work on healing it from the surface and from within.
By the time a disorder or Ama/toxins come out onto the surface of the skin-it has already travelled througout the body, the intestines, the organs and the skin is its final destination..
The process is gentle detoxing while making sure none of the doshas/constitutions are excessed.
The second thing I would like to mention that rashes are strongly psychosomatic-and many are tied very close to the emotionally repressed layers. Esp. when speaking of exc. and psor. So, I work hand and hand with people getting to their core issue with Truth healing and bringing out and releasing pent up emotions, which generally makes the rash come out more and then subside.
With that being said, there are lots of creams out there that can help as well...
