Defining Evil, Separating Fact from Fiction
By Aurore Adamkiewicz
I try extremely hard not to give into hysterical or conspiratory information in the form of hearsay. Whether talking about books, TV shows, or someone who "knew" someone, this is one sure way to step away from truth and entertain ambiguity. From time to time people send me information on Satanism, this is one subject that is often spread through the grapevine and can become a source of great fear and anxiety for some..especially for those of us with children. I take a very critical and reluctant stance to this information because at one time I had nearly lost my "mind" by believing all sorts of these evil stories. Someone had got me into the author David Icke, a man who writes books about "truths" and "secrets" about aliens and Satanism.
I was very young at the time I received this information and was also in a moderate Church that became quite extremist. The extremism crept in quite anonymously and I did not see it coming nor did I have the faculties to discern information critically. I ended up having a total breakdown and almost got a divorce over my paranoia and delusion. I had essentially given my mind over to David Icke.
I am not saying that Satanism does not exist and having spent a few years researching the Wiccan movement, I could see people working hard to overcome the stereotype that witches are evil. However, I could also see people using it to scare people and to follow the stereotype. In the end of my journey I found there to be "evil" Christians who confess Christ but act evil and I also "good" Christians who confess Christ-try to follow him, and are not perfect.
I also found the exact same type of people in Wiccan circles; good, bad, nice and mean.
What does this mean?
I am just saying balance is key and the tendency in any religious circle is to lean toward imbalance. It is far better for us to use our own personal human experiences as a guideline than stories on TV and media.
What is Satanism? Selfishness, worship of the self, Christians in disguise, or the entire "United States of America" as proposed by Islam? We spend far too much time trying to define it, stay away from it, and figure it out. Indeed we run to evil in efforts to avoid it.
If we focus on goodness, when evil actually comes to us- in whatever form (stranger, etc) we will be able to recognize it right away. Wouldn't life be easy if people walked around with signs that said evil and we could pin point...but that is exactly what we try to do.
While we can tell ghost and blood stories- I am quite disheartened by the evil in my present environment-which are pesticides on the grass (which is causing cancer to people and pets), poison plastic lead laden toys for children, poisoned chemical ground water, lakes and rivers, people who use their children as a blood sacrifice through circumcision, holding children down and torturing them with vaccine (I used to be a pediatric nurse).
So-when we talk about Satanic blood rituals- we need only look around us to see how everyone contributes-somewhat-to this "dark" "hate filled" impulse. Call it Satanism, consumerism, unconsciousness- or stupidity...
We are all apart of it on some level.
